Can a Teenager Love?:
An Essay about Love

Love is a complicated thing to understand. The way a guy can look into a girls eyes and say, "I love you" is especially complicated. It is very easy to lie about love. If you really love the person, you shouldn't have to say, "I love you" the person should just know that you love them and that they love you right back.

Although most fairy tales show a boy and a girl instantly falling in love, I believe that love doesn't just happen, you have to grow into love. You can try and try again, but it is most likely that you will not fall in love with a person wandering on the street. You don't know the person until you've stepped in their shoes and walked around in them. It is easy enough to like someone, but to evolve a "like" into love is a whole different story. In the play Romeo and Juliet the characters fall in love immediately. A kiss can not destine death. Juliet, a young girl by the age of 12, is almost like an item waiting to be sold to any young man who has a more than a penny in their pocket. She might "love" Romeo because he is the one man she could not marry. Juliet may like Romeo, but love is just going to far. Love takes much longer than an night to multliply and prosper. Fairy tales and Shakespeare say love can happen at first sight, but I disagree.

A couple that I know to be in love are Brian and Kaye-Leigh. Before Kaye-Leigh even knew Brian, she was sexually assaulted by her boyfriend and got pregnant. She did, however, decide to have the baby, no matter what consequences came, because she thought abortions were wrong. During her pregnancy she also had gallstones, and she almost didn't make it. She did though, and now she has an exquisite 3 year old child, whom she loves very much. After Kaye-Leigh met Brian, it was hard for her to trust anyone, so she had to grow into love. She found Brian to be loving and caring, and he loves her child as much as he loves her. That all that Kaye-leigh needed was love. Love for her and her child. They are now married happily and living in Groton.

I believe that if you are in love, you also must be best friends. If you grow into love, it is most likely going to be with your best friend. Friends know you from the inside out, and so should the person you love. Friendship and love are almost the same thing. The only difference is, love can last forever.
TS: I believe I will grow to love someone
Bell Word: Grow

SD: It is hard to love someone as soon as you see them
CM: It is easy to like someone, but you don't even really know who that person is
CM: It is not until you get to know them that you might actually fall in love

SD: I like to get to know people
CM: It is hard for me to go up to someone and start being their best friend
CM: I was hurt once, and I don't want it to happen again

TS: A couple I know to be in love is Kaye-leigh and Brian Doyle
Bell word: Couple

SD: Kaye-leigh and Brian are still newlyweds, but I believe that they are perfect for each other
CM: Before Kaye-leigh even met Brian, she had a child, but this didn't change one way that Brian looks at her
CM: Brian cares about Kaye-leigh and the baby just as much as he would if the little girl were his own daughter

SD: Kaye-leigh has had some rough times, but Brian has always been there (and she for Brian)
CM: Kaye-leigh is married, has a kid, and goes to collage, at the same time
CM: Brian has a job, but it is hard to keep up with the family

A Sonet

Although you might not ever know its so
I think that you might be the only one
However lost i get I'll always know
That you will never find a way to run
For you will find a way to stand by me
Even if the going gets very rough
I foul out and you are my one referree
Whatever you give me is good enough
Although at times you may be far away
I always know you are with me somehow
I can hear you through the wind wispering
I love you, and without any dismay
But you are here with me right now
And I dont need anything but loving

The Horizon and Me:
An Essay Based on Friendship

When you think of friendship what thoughts pop up in your mind. It could be jumping into a lake or eating candy at 3 in the morning. Whatever you think of, you usually remember the fond memories first. The sad memories come soon afterwards, but not many people like to ponder these.  In this essay, I will describe how friendship is for me.

I believe that friendship is  like the ocean and the sky. The ocean and the sky are two different things. They are extremely far apart, and excessively different. One has clouds and one has fish. One is up and one is down. However, most companionship's are like this because a pair of likely friends are usually two opposite people, with different interests, sports, and hobbies. Another similarity between the ocean and the sky is color. It is because the ocean reflects of the sky. When the sky is gray, the water is gray, and when the sky is blue, the water is blue.  I believe that friendship is like that, one of the friend tries to be just as good as the other. Sometimes, it results in a better friendship, and sometimes it just makes the friendship worse. Finally, the sky and the ocean seem to touch at the horizon. I think that in a friendship, this is when friends grow close. However, it is impossible to reach the horizon, but people can always hope. Most friendships don't end up touching the horizon, but if the friendship gets there, it is worth all the trials and tribulations of the past.  That is what friendship is all about, reaching the horizon.

The sky is filled with birds, and the sea is filled with fish. The fish and birds might not be friends, but the sky and the ocean will always touch at the horizon. Just like two human friends, the sky and the ocean will be friends forever.
