CM: We have encountered many shortages of clothes and supplies

SD: A man came up up to me and told me it was his birthday
CM: He comes up to me every week and reminds me he is 69 and he looks young for it
CM: He is always wearing a light jacket, and it reminds me he needs love

CM: They wanted clothes so much, they would help
CM: They are actually nice
SD: A lady's mom had died the day before, and I helped her
CM: She was having a very hard time, and needed help
CM: We gave her a extra pair of socks and a extra shirt

TS: My research increased my understanding of homelessness

SD: When I found out 61% of homeless people are male
CM: 1.4% of male homeless people are 65 or older
CM: Carl is one of those unfortunate souls
SD: I also found out that 15% of homeless are single women
CM: It isn't nearly as many as the men, but women are more fragile
CM: It is terrible that even that many people would be on the streets
SD: Also, when I realized that 41% of male homeless are white
CM: I was shocked because male blacks were 40%
CM: It was extremely hard to believe

TS: I can relate to To Kill A Mockingbird in many ways

SD: To Kill A Mockingbird has an aspect of loneliness
CM: When you live on the streets, 80% of people are single
CM: In To Kill A Mockingbird Dill and Tom are very lonely
SD: I also believe that Tom Robinson can relate to homeless
CM: Not many people like to be around homeless people
CM: Not many people wanted to be around Tom Robinson either
SD: I also believe I can relate to Atticus
CM: He is always helping the less fortunate
CM: He never gives up, even when times are at its worst

TS: What would I have done differently

SD: I would have been nicer to the mean homeless
CM: They just needed some love, and I shouldn't have been mean back
CM: I feel terrible, and hopefully I'll get another chance
SD: I would have brought in more clothes and sanitary items
CM: I haven't been able to bring anything in due too memory issues
CM: I feel that I could have helped more
SD: I would have brought non-caffeinated soda
CM: We brought Sierra Mist once, and they all had to get a can
CM: The next week a lot more people came to get soda

TS: This experience has changed me in many ways

SD: I have learned that not everyone is helped
CM: Without organizations and homeless shelters, homeless people would be on the streets for a long time
CM: 15% of homeless people are left in non-habitable living conditions
SD: I have learned that many people who are on the streets have just lost their way
CM: 66% of people in the last month have been homeless and had a ADM problem (alcohol, drug, and mental health problem)
CM: The rest were either abused, or victims of the economy
SD: I have also learned that we need to help people in need
CM: They are the less fortunate, we are the more fortunate
CM: We have no excuse not to help
